As a way of continuing to give back to others, we have collaborated with Two Good Co to create a campaign called:

"A MEAL FOR A MEDIATION"

The idea is that for every mediation booked in at Divorce Done Differently, we will donate a meal to Two Good Co.

At the end of March 2025 we are up to 167 meals donated to Two Good Co this year.  If you would also like to donate please click here.

Attention Law Firm Owners - here is your chance to give back too.  If you are interested in supporting our collaboration with Two Good Co and donating a meal for each mediation you book with use, please reach out.

Our goal is to grow this initiative into something much bigger and better than us.

DONATE

WE TOOK THE PLEDGE (AND YOU CAN TOO)

As part of our ongoing commitment to working with vulnerable families and create a safe space for clients to have vulnerable conversations, we took the Two Good Co pledge.  Part of this is not only creating a psychologically safe workplace for our staff, clients and referrers, but also walking alongside vulnerable women and children as they rebuild their self worth and independence after crisis.  Take a look at what is involved in joining us to TAKE THE PLEDGE.

CATHERINE PARKS

By Cath Parks

1 in 7 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. Almost one in two of us will be told we have cancer of some form by the time we are 85 years of age. I have known about these statistics for a long time. I had been to many breast cancer lunches and Cancer Council morning teas. I had been diligent in my participation in the various cancer screening programs that you are told to attend, but, in spite of all this, I just never imagined cancer would happen to me. Until it did.

When I received the news that I had breast cancer almost 12 months ago exactly, I felt the floor fall out from under me.  I am a mum of three kids.  I haven't yet reached my 50th birthday.  At the date of diagnosis, I felt healthier than I had ever been.  It made no sense.  I wasn't sick.

It turns out that cancer treatment permits no time for you to collect your thoughts and digest your new reality.  Instead, I was almost immediately thrown into 12 months of gruelling treatment that included chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

Through all of this, I was blessed to be supported by my most amazing family and friends and some incredible colleagues whose support and generosity enabled me to navigate this incredibly difficult year.

I know that I am very lucky to have discovered the cancer early.  I have responded well to treatment, the worst bits of which I am assured are now done.  I am back in good health and very much back and looking forward to getting back working with you all in 2025.

Love, Cath

COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE IS GOING FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH!

Last month, the Southern Sydney Collaborative Practice Group held a wonderful breakfast meeting by the beach in Cronulla.

The turn out is indicative of the thriving community we have in the South.  Our guest speaker was Karen Hardy, board member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals.  Karen shared with us all the amazing work AACP are doing in 2025.

  • Collaborative Practice NSW (CPNSW) are hosting an event on 21 May 2025 from 5.30-7.30pm in Sydney called ‘TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE PRESENTATION’ featuring, Robert Benjamin AM SC and Michelle Benjamin. This shouldn’t be missed.
